What you’ll do

Visitors are invited to walk the length of the tapestry, observing how one form dissolves into another. You are encouraged to linger on the textures - the transition from organic softness to industrial geometry. This is a space for quiet observation and reflection on the origins of our sustenance.

About the project

This large-scale, tapestry-style collage draws inspiration from the seamless, mathematical transitions of M.C. Escher. It traces a singular, relentless metamorphosis: the journey of a sheep through the industrial machinery of the meat industry - from a living being to a packaged fleshly entity to the "messmate" on a table.

By blurring the boundaries between human/nonhuman, the work seeks to challenge the "detachment" inherent in modern food systems. It aims to collapse the distance between the consumer and the source, replacing industrial abstraction with a textured reality. Through the language of collage, the installation explores the tension between life and consumption, asking the viewer to look closely at the complex connections we often choose to ignore.
